Robert Lee VanCleave, 92 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at home in Concord. Robert proudly served his country in the Navy from July 1943 to March 1946. Mr. VanCleave, a devoted Chicago Cubs fan, was born June 2, 1925 in Indiana to the late Carl VanCleave and the late Geraldine VanCleave. He was also preceded in death by son, Michael VanCleave, brother, Jim VanCleave, brother, Bill VanCleave. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m, and begin the service at 3 p.m., July 27, 2017, at Church of Christ, 4595 Poplar Tent Rd, Concord, NC 28027. Survivors include wife, Carole VanCleave of Concord, NC, daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Hatfield, step-son, Rod (Karla) Sheffield of Huntersville, NC, sister, Beaverly Breeden, granddaughter, Jennifer (Shawn) Rambo, grandson, David (Naomi) Daugherty, great-grandson, Cody Rambo, great-granddaughter, Riley Rambo, great-grandson, Lucas Rambo, great-granddaughter, Taiga Daugherty, great great-grandson, Zaine Rambo, great great-granddaughter, Adalynn Rambo, and great great-granddaughter, Wynter Kellie.
