Warren Ulysses Grant VAIL, 89, died at the Methodist Memorial Home in Warren Saturday afternoon. The deceased was born April 13, 1864, on a farm near Fairberry, Illinois, the son of John and Harriet Vail. His first wife was Margaret Evans, whop receded him in death in 1913. He was remarried to Sarah Hannah on Dec. 24, 1912 at Shelbyville. She survives. Mr. Vail spent his early years as a farmer but later returned to other things. For 15 years, operated the Ramsey Hotel in Crawfordsville. Later, became a collector for Carson Pierre & Scott of Chicago. Among his sister-in-law, Mrs. Effie Evans of the Warren Home. Funeral was held at the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. RC Plank, chaplain of the home as the officiating minister. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Vail spent their early wedded life on a farm north of Waveland and she spent her girlhood days here. They were members of the local Presbyterian Church and Mrs. Vail was a teacher in the Waveland School while they lived here. They also lived on a farm for a time near Russellville before going to Crawfordsville. This additional information was supplied by Mrs. Josephine Milligan. - kbz
