Mrs. Pearle Utterback, 79, wife of John G. Utterback, former Crawfordsville businessman, died Wednesday morning in the family home, 1414 W. Main St., following an extended illness. Born Aug. 4, 1878, west of New Richmond, Mrs. Utterback was the daughter of Richard and Mary Frazier Bible. She married Mr. Utterback Dec. 27, 1899. Mrs. Utterback was a member of the First Methodist Church and had lived in Crawfordsville since 1917. Surviving, besides the husband, are two brothers, James F. Bible of Dayton, and Fred E. Bible of Linden; a nephew, Richard Bible of Linden; three nieces, Mrs. Christine Mitchell of Mulberry; Mrs. Kathleen Meyer of near Urbana, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Provest of Cocoa, Fla., and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Arthur Bible of Urbana, Ohio, in May 1930, and a sister, Mrs. Mayme Thomas, last July 13. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. H. Earl Moore of Lafayette will be the officiating minister. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Dr. Ralph W. Graham, pastor of the First Methodist Church, also will officiate at the service.
