Waynetown, Oct 6 - Edward E. Underwood, 80, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John E. Robinson, 1/2 mile south of here, at 3:55 o'clock Sunday morning after an illness of 3 weeks' duration with pneumonia. Born in Hamilton Co, Ohio Jan 10 1860 Mr. Underwood was a son of John and Sarah Underwood. He married Susan E. Livengood Dec 20, 1883. She died Oct 11, 1934. He had lived in Lafayette and and near Waynetown before coming here where he resided for 20 years. He had made his home alone since his wife died until he became ill. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to the daughter, Mrs. Robinson are a son, Albert C. Underwood of Crawfordsville, former county recorder, a brother, Albert Underwood, Brookville and granddaughter, Mrs. Catherine Burrin, Indianapolis. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Max Underwood, fatally hurt in a auto accident in Oct 1933; six sisters and a half-brother. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church here at 2:30 o'clock tuesday afternoon with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the services, following family rites at the Robinson residence. Burial will be made at the Masonic Cemetery here. - kbz
