Wingate - Connie Sue Lewellen Underwood, 3 of Rt. 1 Wingate died at 1 pm. Friday in her home. Mrs. Underwood was a qualified medical assistant and had worked as manager of Mac's Dry Cleaners at Crawfordsville. She attended CHS. She was born Oct 12, 1940 at Taylorsville, Ill to Charles A and Amanda J. Wadkins Tole. She first married Tom Lewellen Sr in 1955. He is deceased. She married Leo Underwood in 1988. Survivors are 3 sons, Tom and Teddy Lewellen of Waynetown and Duane E. Lewellen of Cayuga; a daughter, Penny S. Scott of Castlerock, Colorado; her mother, Amanda J. Zeigler of Wingate; two brothers, Charles A Tole of San Angelo, Tx and MIchael Tole Farley of Auroro, Co; two sisters, Patricia Baker of Crawfordsville and Linda Stevenson of Denver, Co; 8 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral home at Waynetown. The body will be cremated and there will be family commital services at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
