WINGATE -- Miss Minta Ellen Twiddy, 75, died at 6:33 p. m. Thursday in Culver Hospital after a stroke. She had been ill since June 29. She spent her entire life in the Wingate community, serving as a practical nurse until her illness. She was educated in Roy School in Fountain County. Born June 22, 1883, near Wingate, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Mary U. Dora Twiddy. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Wingate. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sam Davidson and Miss Freeda Twiddy, both of Crawfordsville; a brother, Floyd Twiddy of Wingate; several nephews and nieces and a great-nephew and two great-nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Twiddy and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Neal. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p. m. Saturday in the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Smith, of Wingate Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p. m. Friday.
