COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) --A Covington man was killed instantly and his housekeeper injured in a two-car collision east of Gray Summit, Mo ., on U. S. Route 66 at 9:10 a. m. Monday.

Dead is Lloyd Twiddy, 70, of 1115 Liberty St. Miss Edna Wilkins, 69, his housekeeper, is in serious condition in St. Francis Hospital at Washington, Mo.

Also injured was the driver of the other auto, Charles Payne, 43, of Olivette, a St. Louis suburb.

Mr. Twiddy had been visiting in California and was planning to move there. He had sold his property in Covington and was returning to finish personal business.

Born March 25, 1890 at Wingate, he was the son of James E. and Eura Palin Twiddy. He was married to Mabel Fenters, who preceded him in death in 1 955. He also was preceded in death by a son.

Survivors include a half brother, Elwood Twiddy of Radcliff, Ky.

He was a member of the Fulton-Banta American Legion Post in Covington and was a veteran of World War I.

The body is being returned to the Hegg Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Don Wade will officiate, with burial in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. Friends will be received at the funeral home after noon Wednesday.  --typed by Walt W- kbz
