Mrs. Alma Turley, 78, died Wednesday night in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient since Monday. She had made her home here the past six years with a son, Dave Turley, 715 Chander Lane. Mrs. Turley, who spent most of her life in Remington and Benton County was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church. A music teacher in Remington for many year,s she was a member of the Pythian Sisters and DAR at Remington. She also was a 50-year member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star there. Born June 16, 1883, in Benton County, Indiana she was a daughter of James and Cordelia Graham Bowman Newton. She was married May 29, 1912 to George Turley. He died in 1933. Survivors include three sons, Dave and Jim of Crawfordsville and Joe of Los Cruces, NM; and two grandchildren, Mike Turley of Crawfordsville and Lisa Turley of New Mexico. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Ellen. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stitz Funeral Home in Remington, Rev. John Servies will officiate. Interment will be in Gilboa Cemetery near Remington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. kbz
