Trullinger - inf of Milton

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Thursday, 26 February 1874

An infant daughter of Milton Trullinger, east of town, was fatally burned on Thursday morning last. The mother had gone out to milk and left the child in the house. When she returned, it ran to meet her with every stitch of clothing burned from its little body from the waist up, a strand of beads remaining about its neck. Dr. Kellenberger hastened to its relief as soon as notified, but it was beyond mortal aid, and after intense suffering died the evening of the same day as the accident. As the child was only a little over a year old, it could give no explanation. It is supposed that it was playing with a lighted paper at the stove hearth, thus causing the heartrending accident.—Attica Ledger
