Veedersburg- May 3- Mrs. Mattie L Trueman, 76 years old, widow of Henry Trueman, died Monday morning at her home here, after an illness of several weeks with a complication of diseases. A native of Jeffersonville, Mrs. Trueman was born Feb 27, 1867, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret Grimes Leach, pioneer Indiana couple. Her marriage to Henry Trueman took place July 19, 1885, her husband preceding her in death. Following her marriage Mrs. Trueman went with her husband to Danville, Ill., where she resided until 19 years ago when residence was established in Veedersburg. She was the mother of thirteen children, two of whom preceded her in death. Those surviving are: Mrs. Sadie Harrington and Mrs. Emma Switzer of Veedersburg; Mrs. Mae Lape and Mrs. Grace High of Danville, Ill., Edward Trueman and Mrs. Rachel Wagner of San Francisco, Calif.,Mr.s Evelyn Mitchell of Farmington, Mich.,Mrs. Lorena Trudeau of Anchorage, Alaska, Mrs Helen Brown of Midlothian, Ill., Dewey Trueman of Marion and Mrs. Idelle Gallaher of Mellott. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Minnie Barbour of Portland, Oregon. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg, with burial in Bonebrake Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Howard will officiate.
