Waynetown - John Truax, 83, a farmer, died Saturday noon at his home, where he had lived since he was three weeks old, one-half mile north of Alamo. In failing health for six week, he was critically ill four days. Death was attributed to a coronary thrombosis. Born in Alamo, on September 12, 1870, he was the son of Samuel and Martha Stubbins Truax. On November 13, 1907, he married Rosia Belle Keys at Yountsville. He was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church, of the Alamo Masonic Lodge of which he served at Tyler over a period of years, and he was a charter member of the Alamo OES. He was educated in Alamo schools. Survivors include, the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Hallett of Hillsboro, and Mrs. James Brennan of Portsmouth, Va.; one son, Harold B. of Lebanon, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Alamo Christian Church, with the Rev. H.L. McBride of Wingate and the Rev. Guy F. Tremaine officiating.
