NORTH SALEM – Richard A. Trotter, 65, of North Salem, a 25-year employe of Olivetti-Underwood Corp., died at 1:02 p.m. Tuesday in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been ill three weeks. He was a member of North Salem Christian Church, North Salem Masonic Lodge, Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He was a charter member of North Salem Lions Club and served as manager of Indiana State Lions Band for 25 years. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Symphony Orchestra. He was born Nov. 16, 1908, at North Salem, a son of Dr. Charles M. Trotter and Beulah Adams Trotter. He was married to Bertha Malayer of North Salem. She survives. Also surviving are a son, John of Danville; a daughter, Jane Trotter of Indianapolis, and two grandchildren, Sherry and Tara. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Porter Funeral Home here with the Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
