Darlington - Wiley Tribbett, 78, a retired farmer and lifelong residet of the Darlington community, died in his sleep early Wednesday morning at his home two miles north of Darlington. Born April 7, 1876, east of Darlington, Mr. Tribbett was the son of Clinton and Sarah Mullen Tribbett. He married Ivy M. King, Sept 25, 1904. Mr. Tribbett was a member of the Potato Creek Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Darlington F&AM Lodge, No 186. Surviving are the widow, two sons, Walter H. Tribbett, Rt 1, Darlington and Robert C. Tribbett, Riverside, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Booher, Greencastle and Mrs. Lura Horn, Linden; 5 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Tribbett who died in 1944. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Potato Creek Methodist Church, followed by burial at Darlington IOOF Cemetery. Rev. Albert Vermillion of Jamestown will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the family home after noon Thursday. The family has asked that friends omit flowers.
