Tribbett - Miriam

Della Mount Tribbett died at her home near Shannondale Tuesday evening about six o’clock. She was the oldest daughter of the well known William H. and Helen Mount. She was married to Albert Tribbett seventeen years ago last December. Two weeks ago that household was referred to as one not only of pleasure and happiness, but a family that was exemplary in every day life. The father, mother and two daughters have made for themselves a model home. Industry and perseverance has ever been their motto, yet during these years of hard toil they have not forgotten the purpose of their creation. Della united with the Presbyterian Church at Shannondale when only a girl and has ever since lived a true, noble Christian life. Perhaps by this influence she has seen her husband and two children gathered into the fold. She was ever found in her class at Sunday school and at preaching services.

One in the prime of usefulness, only thirty seven years of age, she was able and always willing to do whatever she could for her Master. The church has lost a pure, unerring worker. The community realizes the loss of a precious, loving neighbor, and the home, only a few days ago, they were repeating with the psalmist that the lines had fallen unto them in pleasant places, yea I have a goodly heritage, but today the sorrows of death have compassed them, they have found trouble and profound sorrow. The family and relatives have the deepest sympathy of all, but they can only refer them to such passages as these for comfort: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.”

The funeral was preached at Shannondale Thursday morning by the pastor, A. S. Buchanan, to a large congregation. She was buried in Shannondale Cemetery beside her little babe, Miriam, who lived, but a few hours and who preceded her only a few days.
