She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed in the Fountain County Section of Local History at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

DARLINGTON – Army Sgt. 1.C. Lloyd E. “Gene” Tribbett, a 1955 graduate of Darlington High School, has been killed in the Vietnam War. Relatives in Montgomery County have been notified that he died Wednesday, May 8, of gunshot wounds. Sgt. Tribbett, 31, is the fifth Montgomery County man to die in the conflict. He was born May 18, 1936, in Boone County, a son of John and Helen Tribbett. He lived with his brother, John Jr., while a teenager. He joined the Army in 1956. Surviving are his wife, Rena, and three children, Brenda, Gene and Teresa, of Columbus, Ga.; three brothers, Oakel and Otis of Crawfordsville and John Jr. of Rt. 1, Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Marvin Abston of Rt. 1, Crawfordsville, Mrs. Dorothy Boer of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Marlyn Zimmerman of Rt. 4, Lebanon, and Mrs. Tressie Newlin of Indianapolis, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. – jlr
