Darlington, Sept. 24 - Mrs. Lillie Howard Tressell, 75, native of Montgomery county, Virginia, died at 6:50 o’clock Tuesday night at her home here, She had been ill two weeks with pneumonia. Born Sept. 1, 1865 the deceased was the daughter of Thomas and Susan Terry. She was married twice, first on Sept 1, 1886 to James Edward Brumfield, and following his death to Elijah Tressell of Terre Haute, on June 18, 1912. Mrs. Tressell was a member of the Presbyterian church. Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Clarence Crumm of Darlington; a son Walter Brumfield of near Danville, Ind., a grandson Billy Crumm of Darlington; two sisters, Mrs. Missouri Miller of New Market and Mrs. Dora Curtis of Terre Haute, and one brother, Joe Terry of Winnebago, Minn. Funeral services will be held at one o’clock Thursday afternoon at the home in Darlington, with burial at the Ladoga cemetery.

Darlington, Sept. 28- The funeral services of Mrs. Lillie Brummfield Tressell who passed away at her home in Darlington Tuesday evening, September 24, following a two weeks illness with pneumonia, was conducted at the home on Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Rev. Ora McDaniel, of Advance, a former pastor of the local Christian church assisted by the Rev. C. P. Strawmyer pastor of the Congregational Christian church was in charge of the service. Mrs. Husted Peterson and Mrs. Joe Booher with Mrs. Glenn Carson accompanist sang, ”Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Sometime We’ll Understand.” Thos assisting with the flowers were Mrs. Dan Hampton, Mrs. I. W. Vannice, Mrs. Glenn Pickering, Mrs. Floyd Crumm, Mrs. Joe Pattison, Mrs. Emery Moffitt, Mrs. Henry Lidikay and Mrs. Charles Williamson. The pallbearers were Floyd Crumm, Frank Williamson, Joe Pattison, Vorie Terry, Byron Terry and Charles Williamson. Burial was made at the Ladoga cemetery.
