WAYNETOWN -- Mrs. Harriet Genevieve Tremaine, who was 99 on Feb. 18, died at 8:50 p. m. Thursday in the home of her son, Rev. Guy E. Tremaine, in the Wesley community east of here. She had been ill the past 11 days with a heart ailment. Mrs. Tremaine was Wayne Township's oldest resident and one of the oldest citizens of this area. Born in 1861 in White County, she was a daughter of Moses and Rebecca Meeks Reynolds. She married Wright Tremaine Sept. 26, 1878. He died in 1928. Since his death she had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Tremaine was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church. Surviving are the son; two granddaughters, Mrs. Bernice Garner of Brownsburg and Mrs. Mildred Logsdon of Waynetown; six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Earl Ridgeway of St. Petersburg, Fla. Funeral services are announced for 2 p. m. Sunday at the Servies Funeral Home here. Dr. T. L. Stovall, secretary of the Methodist Preachers Aid Society of West Lafayette, will officiate, assisted by Rev. W. J. Flannigan, pastor of the Waynetown and Wesley Methodist Churches. Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
