Mrs. Rhoda Townsley Yesterday morning at 1 o'clock at her residence, No. 908 W. Wabash Ave, Mrs. Rhoda Townsley, after a long and lingering illness, departed this life. Mrs. Townsley was the eldest daughter of Dan and Sarah YOUNT, who were pioneer residents of Yountsville and well-known and respected by the citizens of their neighborhood. She was b. in Tippecanoe Co. on the WEA, Nov 20, 1832. She was 3 x marr, first to James W. GILKEY, who survived but a short time. Of this union, Allen Gilkey, a son of Burlington Iowa survives. Her second husband was Arthur RUSSELL, of Monticello, with whom she lived one year and a half when he died. Afterward she marr. John W. TOWNSLEY of Dayton, OH. From this union Andrew Townsley, Frank Townsley, and Mrs. Anna PETERSON survive. B.R. Russell of this city, is her stepson. Mrs. Townsley lived the life of an earnest, consistent Christian woman. From her parents she inherited the generous, kindly disposition that was so marked a feature of her character. In a material way the world did not always deal kindly with her, but her gentleness and patience in adversity as well as prosperity exemplified the abiding faith she held in the promises of the Redeemer. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. tomorrow at her late residence, conducted by Dr. HA Tucker and Rev. JG Stephens. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born in Tippecanoe County on the Wea, Nov. 20th, 1832. She was three times married, first to James W. Gilkey, who survived but a short time.
