Towell - Thad

Kingman - Thad Towell, 83, former Kingman businessman, died Thursday in a Kasas City, MO nursing home. He had been in failing health several months. Mr. Towell was Standard Oil agent here many years. He moved to Danville, Ill where he owned apartment houses and also sold cars for Allen Oldsmobile in Covington. A native of Indiana, he was born Nov 10, 1895, a son of Wilson and Myrta Staton Towell. He was married March 26, 1918 to Gertrude Bullock, who died June 1, 1972. Surviving are a son, Blaine of Kansas City; a daughter (sic - think she is his sister), Mrs. Ina Nevins of rural Rosedale; a grandson; a granddaughter and three great grandchildren. A brother is deceased. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Woodrow Funeral Home here with the Rev. Lee Downen officiating. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Saturday. -- kbz
