Waveland, Ind., Sept 7 - A printing plant employe was killed and two others were injured today when a speeding car skidded and rolled 700 feet. Dead is Richard Arlen Tolliver, 17, of Waveland. Injured are John F. Day, 18, driver of the car, and Frank Allen Jr., 23, also of Waveland. Police said Day apparently lost control of the car, which skidded 600 feet, struck a guard rail sideways and then rolled "like a barrel" for another 100 feet. The three were returning to their homes in Waveland from Crawfordsville, where they were employed in the R. R. Donnelley and Son Printing company plant. Waveland is 12 miles southwest of Crawfordsville.

Richard Arlen TOLLIVER, 17, was instantly killed at about 3:30 o'clock a.m. when the car driven by John Day left the road and turned over several times after striking the guard rail just west of Pine Grove on Highway 47 Friday morning. Day, Junior Allen and Tolliver were on their way home from work at RR Donnelly & Sons, Crawfordsville. Albert Deitrich and Edward Blackmore who were on their way home from a business trip reported to authorities that the Day car passed them at a high rate of speed and left the highway almost immediately afterwards but pulled back crossing the highway and struck the guard posts and rolled over several times. Tolliver was killed instantly. Day was picked up unconscious and Allen complained of chest pains. Day returned home Tuesday. Funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon for Tolliver at the Machledt Funeral Parlors by Rev LC Rudolph, pastor of the Waveland Presbyterian Church and burial at Indian Creek. Richard Tolliver son of Guy and Asna Marie Burnham Tolliver was born March 18, 1934 in Brown Twp, he made his home with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burnham and his mother at Waveland. There survive his mother, 3 grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burnham of Waveland and Alvin Tolliver of Louisville, Ill; a brother, Leonard Burnham Tolliver of Waveland; two sisters, Mrs. Della Mae Hockett of Waveland and Mrs. Lee Edmonds of Crawfordsville.
