Walter Todd Dies After Long Illness- Walter F. Todd, 78, died at his home at 909 Kentucky St., about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday after a long illness. He was born Feb. 18, 1880, near Eubank, Ky., a son of Richard and Maralda Bastion Todd. He was twice married. His first marriage was to Edna Hampton. His second marriage was to Dola Catherine Long. They were married March 2, 1922, near Eubank. Mr. Todd had lived in Crawfordsville most of his life. He farmed during his early life. He was employed 30 years by Hydraulic Press Brick Co. and worked 15 years at the aluminum plant at Lafayette. He retired Dec. 31, 1957. Survivors include the widow, Dola; a son, Otis L. Todd of Crawfordsville; four daughter, Mrs. Jewell W. Black, Mrs. William Beach, Mrs. Donald Servies, and Mrs. Carl D. Zimmerman, all of Crawfordsville; a brother, William Todd of Crawfordsville, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph D. Smith of Crawfordsville; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright Funeral Home with Aude McKee of the Plainfield Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
