John W. Todd, who formerly lived on his farm near Browns Valley died at his residence in Crawfordsville on Friday night at the age of 90. He was born near Browns Valley November 11, 1841 the son of Johnson and Ruth Vancleave Todd. He was twice married; first to Susan Stegers in 1867. After her death he married Hester Harris in 1871. She died in 1900. In 1905 he was one of the organizers of the Browns Valley State Bank. For many years he was an active member of the Waveland Methodist Church and later took part in organizing the Browns Valley Methodist church and the erection of the church building now occupied by the Christian C hurch congregation. Funeral services on Sunday afternoon were held at the Browns Valley Baptist church in charge of Rev. CB Stanforth. Burial at Indian Creek Cemetery. - kbz
