Harvey Allen Todd, Senior, the eldest of six children, all sons, of John Henry Todd and Flora Etta Reynolds Todd. Allen was born on March 18, 1908 in Waynetown, Montgomery County, Indiana. He died on September 18, 1990 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana. He is buried there at Greenlawn Cemetery. So is Maureen. Allen, my uncle, married my aunt, Esta Maurine Vore Todd on October 29, 1930. The Family Bible Records of my grandmother, Flora, confirm this fact. Plus, Aunt Maureen, herself verified her own marriage date. If you notice, in Uncle Allen's obit...and, even in the records of the the Cass Circuit Court, the marriage date was incorrectly recorded. The date was not Oct. 26, Oct. 28, or any other date other than October 29, 1930. Aunt Maureen's individual records are not seen below. About Uncle Al's parents. John Henry Todd was born near Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana on March 13, 1884 and died on September 2, 1958 in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. Other historians have incorrectly recorded these facts. I have proof of both birth and death dates. Gramma Flora was born on August 20, 1888 near Anoka, Cass County, Indiana and died on February 10, 1960 at the Irene Byron Sanitarium in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana of cancer that started in her right femur (thigh bone) and spread throughout her body. She had previously conquered tuberculosis. Both John Henry and Flora are buried in the Paint Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, four miles east of the little town of Camden, Carroll County, Indiana. John Henry's parents were John Starnes Todd and his second wife, Mariah Jane Hawkins Todd. John Starnes was a son of Thomas Todd and Sellie Helton Todd (Heltonville, Lawrence County, Indiana.) Thomas was a son of George Todd and Sarah Brooks Todd. John and Mariah are buried in Gilgal Cemetery in Lawrence County, Indiana. Flora was a daughter of Edward (AKA "Edwin") L. Todd and Olive Mary Merritt Todd, who are buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. Both Uncle Al and Aunt Maureen were very kind people. Uncle Al worked for his brother, my Uncle Ralph Preston Todd at, "Todd's Appliances" in Logansport, founded in 1935. Uncle Ralph died in 2004. His wife was my Aunt Gladys Estella Burks Todd. Aunt Maureen worked as a dietician at Logansport's Memorial Hospital for years. My father, brother of both Allen and Ralph, was Francis ("Frank") Leverett Todd, who also worked for Uncle Ralph, first as a radio repairman, and, later, as a t.v. repairman. TRIVIA: AUNT MAUREEN WAS ALWAYS PROUD OF HER "NATURALLY CURLY HAIR." Isn't it beautiful?

Traci Todd King of, whose roots are in Logansport, Indiana, let me know about this wedding anniversary write-up. Then, I looked it up on the www.pharostribune.com digital archives. Harvey Allen Todd, Senior; and Esta Maurine Vore Todd were my aunt and uncle. They were Traci's Gramma and Grampa. They were known to most as, "Allen and Maurine". Allen was the eldest brother of my father, Francis ("Frank") Leverett Todd. http://pharostrib.newspaperarchive.com/PdfViewer.aspx?img=109294201&src=browse . This is on page five of the digital archives at www.pharostribune.com. Al and Maurine Todd's 50th wedding anniversary announcement is seen on Thursday, October 30, 1980, the day AFTER their anniversary of October 29, 1980. Allen was born on March 18, 1908 in Waynetown, Montgomery County, Indiana and died in the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana, on September 18, 1990. He is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery there. Married in the manse of the Broadway Universalist Church on October 29, 1930 by W.C. Holmes, minister. This marriage date has been reported incorrectly in at least one place that I've run across, but this is the correct date. Aunt Maurine told me October 29. I have the marriage app, marriage license, recorded in the Cass County Circuit Court, Order Book 53, Page 277. The marriage date is also recorded in the Bible Records of Allen's mother, who was my Gramma Flora Etta Reynolds Todd. Maurine, herself, also used those Bible Records as a guide for much of her historical research. I have found small mistakes in those Bible Records, but this marriage date of October 29, 1980 is a correct marriage date. Also, Maurine's name is not spelled as "Maureen", which I once saw misspelled somewhere. "Maurine" is the correct spelling. Maurine was born on February 2, 1911, which is also Groundhog's Day, in Marion, Grant County, Indiana, and died in the Indiana Masonic Home on September 21, 1991. I DON'T KNOW, BUT, I AM GUESSING that she was probably buried next to Allen, but, as I said, I DON'T KNOW. ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE? Angie. Though I loved Uncle Allen, I was closer to Aunt Maurine. She was one of a number of our family historians and she, as others also did, helped me tremendously with any family history that she knew. Many of her records went to her daughter, Elizabeth Anne, who, in turn, gave most of her collected history to her son, David DeWitt. David has been putting a lot of this info on C.D.'s, etc. I can't wait till it's done! Maurine's last address at the Indiana Masonic Home, before being transferred to the "hospital building" was: Esta Maurine Todd, Room 210 M.B. (main building), Indiana Masonic Home, 690 State Street, Franklin, Indiana, 46131. Her phone number was: 317-736-6141. Her extension was 346. ADDITIONAL RELATED HISTORY. My father, Francis ("Frank") Leverett Todd, was born on December 12, 1918 in Jamestown, Boone County, Indiana, and died on October 7, 1984 in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. His only wife, my mother, was Evaleen Rosemary Murphy Todd, who was born on July 3, 1924, in Kentland, Newton County, Indiana, and died in Houston, Harris County, Texas on March 5, 1987. They were married on by Assistant Pastor, Francis Joseph Meehan on February 6, 1945 in Saint Mary's Cathedral, 1207 Columbia Street, in Lafayette, Tippecanone County, Indiana. Later, Rev. Meehan was the priest at the now non-existent, Saint Bridget's Church in Logansport. Saint Bridget's, Saint Vincent's, and Saint Joseph's later all combined into only one church, now known as All-Saint's Church (the former Saint Joseph's Church). All three were part of the Lafayette Diocese. Frank and Rosemary are both buried in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, on U.S. Highway 24 East, a few miles east of the Logansport city limits. Trivia: Frank and Rosemary were married on the 38th wedding anniversary of Frank's parents, John Henry Todd and Flora Etta Reynolds Todd. Info. of the parents of Allen and Frank Todd. Their father, was my Grampa John Henry Todd, who was born on March 13, 1884, near Bloomington, Monroe Country, Indiana and died in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana, on September 2, 1958. His only wife, who was my Gramma Flora Etta Reynolds Todd, was born near Anoka, Cass County, Indiana on August 20, 1888. She died on February 10, 1960 in the Irene Byron Sanitarium in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. She had both tuberculosis and cancer. Dad said to me, "They got rid of the T.B, but the cancer got her." Both John Henry and Flora are buried in Paint Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery, four miles east of the little town of Camden, Carroll County, Indiana. They were both kind and Loving people. Flora was, at one time, the church secretary at Paint Creek Baptist Church and there are many notes about the activities there, in her own handwriting, which is a treasure to me. John Henry and Flora were married by the famous preacher, Elder James Harvey Oliphant, on February 6, 1907 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. Elder Oliphant's wife was Catherine Teague Oliphant. Gramma Flora was also a great family historian. Her Bible Records have been invaluable to all of us. MAY ALL OF THESE PEOPLE REST IN ABSOLUTE PEACE AND LOVE. I HAVE MUCH MORE HISTORY TO SHARE, UPON REQUEST. I am Angela Frances Todd, born July 1, 1947, in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana.
