Mrs. Susan Tipton, aged 45 years, departed this life last Saturday morning. The deceased had been suffering from some time of fatty degeneration and a few weeks ago went to Indianapolis and underwent an operation for relief. The operation only relived her for a short time and since her return home had grown gradually worse and though her death was not unexpected, yet it was a sad blow to the community. The funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday at 10 a.m. by Rev. Ashley, of Lebanon. Interment was at the Jesse Cemetery. Two sons, Harry and Fred and two daughters, Maude Tipton and Mrs. Gertrude Routh, survive her. -s

Resolutions of Sympathy – Editor: New Ross Mail – at a regular meeting of our ladies Aid Society of the Christian Church, the following resolutions of sympathy were adopted: Again our Society has been invaded by the grim messenger from the eternal world who removed from our midst one of our members, Sister Susie Tipton. We the Ladies and Society deeply deplore our loss and sincerely extend to the bereaved family our sympathy in this, their great affliction. Words are weak at such a time and fail to heal the wounded hearts, but we recommend them to Him who can heal all wounds. Through weary months the heavy hand of pain was laid upon her and patiently borne, as sent by the Divine Father who doeth all things well. To the bereaved father mother and desolate children, we tender our heartfelt sympathy and pray our Father above to endow them with fortitude from on high that they may bear their loss with becoming resignation. Therefore be it resolved that a copy of these resolutions be furnished the bereaved family and a copy be sent for publication in each of the following papers: The New Ross Mail; The Crawfordsville Journal; also that a copy be spread on the records of our society. Committee: Mrs. Frana Ronk; Mrs. Lizzie Stipe; Mrs. Anna Babb. --- kbz
