Ralph W. Timmons, 49, of Hammond died Thursday afternoon at St. Margaret's Hospital in that city where he had been a patient since Sunday. He was born Nov 28, 1912 and his parents were Andrew and Nancy Grimes Timmons. Timmons was formerly married to Gladys Berkholz who now resides in Hammond. He was a 1932 graduate of Waveland HS. All of his employment was in the transportation industry. He worked with the Interstate Trucking Co for a number of years and later was employed in Chicago by the Brink's Armored Car. For the last 8 years he was with Monon RR as a clerk. In addition to his parents, Timmons is survived by two children, James and Nancy who lived with their mother in Hammond; and three brothers, Orval Timmons of Darlington; Louis of Marshall and Chester of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bright Funeral Home in Darlington, Rev. John Waye of the Darlington Congregational Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime after noon Saturday. -- kbz
