HILLSBORO, Ind. (CNS) — Harry Stanley Timmons, 58, a former area resident and veteran of 25 years service in the Navy, died Sunday (July 7, 1968) at the U. S. Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He had been a patient there since emergency surgery May 11. Born July 10, 1919, in Sterling, he was the son of Jasper and Jennie Hysong Timmons. He was the youngest of nine children. He attended the Sterling Grade School and Hillsboro High where he graduated while residing with a sister, Mrs. Nell Remster, and family. He took a short course at Purdue University and went to California where he enlisted in the Navy. He received several medals for meritorious service during his career and retired as a lieutenant commander. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the shrine. He was married Oct. 7, 1938, in California to Florence (Betty) Wharton of Camden, N.J., who survives. Other survivors include a brother, Carl of Hayward, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Paramore of Provo, Utah, Mrs. Helen Moore of Waynetown and Mrs. Remster of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews. Services and burial will be Wednesday in New Jersey. --typed by Walt W
