WINGATE -- Mrs. Leonetta (Nettie) Tiffany, 86, a resident of the Wingate community most of her life, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where she had been a patient since April 3. She had been ill with a heart ailment. Born April 27, 1871, in the Elmdale neighborhood, Mrs. Tiffany was the daughter of John and Hulda Quick Utterback. She married Charles A. Tiffany Feb. 15, 1890. The husband died Jan. 25, 1950. Mrs. Tiffany was a member of the Wingate Methodist Church. She had lived in the present home 50 years. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Sherman McClamroch and Mrs. Hugo Merrill, both of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Earl Waye of Lafayette; a brother, Chelsea Utterback of Memphis, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews. Besides the husband, she was preceded in death by a son, George Tiffany, who died in 1898 at the age of 4; a sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Wingate Methodist Church, with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Rev. R. T. Ludden will be the officiating minister. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the rites. Friends may call at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
