Dr. Frank M. Tibbets, Rockville veterinarian died Wednesday
in Union Hospital at Terre Haute following a paralytic stroke. He was 72 years
old. Dr. Tibbets was born near Lodi in 1885, the son of Oliver and Mattie
Tibbets. He married Edna Williams Aug 24, 1905. Dr. Tibbets was a graduate of
the Veterinarian College in Terre Haute. He practiced in Kingman for 26 years,
before moving to Rockville in 1943. Active in civic affairs, Dr. Tibbets was a
member of several organizations including Rockville Rotary Club, Kingman Masons,
Kingman Eastern Star, Scottish Rites of Indianapolis, Corah Shrine at Terre Haute
and Veterinarian Associatino of Indianapolis and was a member of the Memorial
Presbyterian Church of Rockville. Survivors include his wife; one daughter,
Mrs. Gladys Butler of Rockville; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Crumley of Veedersburg
and Mrs. Maude Curtis of Indianapolis; three brothers, Curtis of Kingman, Oscar
of Veedersburg and Cecil of Danville, Ill.
Funeral services will be at Barnes Funeral Home, Rockville at 4 p.m.
with Rev. Hugh Cavens in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Gardnes Cemetery at
Rockville. Friends may call at the funeral home.
