Mrs. Stella M. Threlkeld, 80, of Jamestown, Route 2, died Thursday afternoon at her home southwest of Dover, following a two-day serious illness. She had been in poor health the past six years. Mrs. Threlkeld was born in Boone County October 25, 1884. She was the daughter of John C. and Mary (Garner) Cogle and was married in Boone County October 27, 1900 to Otto Threlkeld, who passed away in 1938. She had resided in Boone County her entire life and had lived on the present farm about 75 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and had many friends and acquaintances. She is survived by three sons, Everett of New Ross, Roy of Darlington, Route 1 and John Threlkeld of Jamestown, Route 2.; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Fernandez of Calin, Ill., Mrs. Ruth Hutchens of Jamestown, Route 2, and Mrs. Laura May Swank, also of Jamestown, Route 2; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were five children, Earl Threlkeld, Ruby Isenhower, Gladys Butler and two infants. Also three grandchildren, one brother and a sister are deceased. Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Russell and Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon. Rev. Herbert Swearingen will be the officiating minister. Burial will be in the Pisgah cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning noon Saturday.
