Source: Crawfordsville Journal and Review, Friday, April 30, 1937, P. 2, column 4 ____________________________________________________________________ Advance, April 30.-The funeral of Mrs. America Threlkeld, who died at the home of Otto Threlkeld, west of here, on Wednesday, was held from the Providence church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. C. L. Airhart officiated and burial was made in the old Pisgah cemetery. She was born January 25, 1853, at Newcastle, Ky. She was married February 25, 1868 to George Threlkeld, who passed away several years ago. There were no children. One nephew, Egbert Cogle, survives. He has been making his home with her. She had been an invalid for the past four years and passed away from a complication of diseases after a long illness. Mrs. Threlkeld was a member of The Christian church at Newcastle, Ky. _____________________________________________________________________

Note: .Date of death was Wednesday, April 28, 1937. Based on the Henry Co. KY bond, her marriage to George Sanford Threlkeld was in 1869, not 1868. Her parents were Benjamin Franklin Cogle Sr. and Amanda Brewer, both of whom died in Kentucky
