John Thornton, an employee at Straght’s (?) factory died last Wednesday of typhoid fever. His remains were interred at Waveland the following day.

John Thornton, eldest son of Jos. B. Thornton, died on the 28th of typhoid fever at the residence of his father-in-law, Isom R. Farmer in Crawfordsville and was interred on the 29th at this place in the Methodist Cemetery.  He had the best of medical treatment by Dr. McClelland. He leaves a wife and one child. - kbz
