Dr. Herbert Thomson, Presbyterian minister for more than half a century and a Wabash College graduate, died Thursday at his home in Los Gatos, Cal near San Francisco. Dr. Thomson was the son of pioneer parentage in Crawfordsville, his father and other members of the Thomson family having long been associated with the college. He was graduated from Wabash College with the class of 1892, Wabash conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity upon him in 1918. At that time he was a Presbyterian Minister in Berkeley, Cal. Dr. Thomson was graduated from Oakland College in California, where he received his degree in the ministry. The first church which he served as pastor was in Everett, Wash. Dr. Thomson was married in 1898 to DeEtta Price. The widow survives together with one son, Rev. Everett Thomson, now pastor of a large Presbyterian Church in Palo Alta, Cal. There are also two grandsons. Word of Dr. Thomson's death came Friday morning from Mrs. Thomson to Miss Edith Coons, long a friend of the family. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Los Gatos, with burial at Oakland, Cal. - kbz
