Trout - David

David L. Trout, brother of Sherman and Roy Trout of this city,
died at his home in Chicago, 6235 Woodlawn Avenue Saturday night
following a sudden attack of heart trouble. Mr. Trout expired at
nine p.m. after being stricken on a train near Monon, Indiana,
where he had gone earlier in the day to visit his 1,200 acre
farm.
Mr. Trout was born at the old Trout home east of this city
December 21, 1853, the son of Hannibal and Mary G. Trout. He
spent his early life there and following his marriage to Carrie
Gray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray, pioneer residnets of
this community, built the Trout home at 402 east Jefferson
street.
Mr. and Mrs. Trout resided in this home until 1893 when Mr.
Trout went to Chicago to enter the livestock commission business.
While in Crawfordsville he dealt extensively in livestock and for
a time maintained a stable of fancy horses. He was a man of
sterling character and unquestioned honesty and leaves a host of
friends in this part of Indiana to mourn his death.
After going to Chicago he established the firm of Trout and
Ingeerson.
Those surviving are the wife and one son, Frost L. Trout a
member of the commission firm formed by the father. One daughter
passed away in infancy. Two brothers Sherman and Roy Trout both
of Crawfordsville also survive.
The funeral services will be conducted at Chicago Wednesday
and the body will be brought here Thursday and palced ina vault
at the Oak Hill Cemetery to await burial.
