WINGATE — Ray M. Thompson, 66, a farmer most of his life, died Wednesday at 8 p. m. at his home two miles northeast of Wingate. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Born Nov. 6, 1888 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Scott and Martha Beagle Thompson. On Nov. 26, 1913 he married Bertha Hormell in Jireh, Wyo. He was serving as moderator of the Western Indiana Association of the Congregation of Christian Churches. Except for four years spent homesteading in Wyoming, he had farmed all of his working life. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Garna Cheek; two brothers, Roy of Bloomington and Walter S. of Indianapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Alta Colvin of Merom. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the Wingate Christian Church with Rev. Leroy Houk in charge. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the family home after 10 a. m. Friday. - kbz
