Waynetown -- Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Decatur Wilkinson near Alamo occurred the funeral services of Mrs. Mary THOMPSON relict of the late Nicholas Thompson who died at his home near Crawfordsville 12 years ago. The funeral sermon was preached by PJ Lough. Aunt Mary as she was usually called, was one of the oldest people in the county as she was born in PA May 17, 1821 being 92 years 3 months 27 days old at her death. She spent her early life in Ohio. She was married to Nicholas Thompson in her 18th year to which union there was born 11 children, six sons and 5 daughters, six of the children are living: John, Willard and Andrew, Mrs. Mary Rafferty, Mrs. Nannie Parker and Mrs. Emma Wilkinson at whose home she died. There are 18 grandchildren and 25 greats. In early life she confessed her Savior and united with the Methodist Church afterward tranferring her membership to the United Brethern church near her home. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and kind and obliging neighbor and expemplified her unselfish life by deeds of kindness. The body was placed at rest by the side of her husband.
