Miss Lillian Thompson, formerly court reporter for the Montgomery Circuit Court and later associated with William J. Sprow in his law office here died Monday morning at the Ashley Nursing Home. Death followed an illness of more than 4 years. She was 72 years of age. Born Oct 19, 1880, in Hoopeston, Ill, Miss Thompson was the daughter of Samuel and Louisa Thompson. The family resided in Missouri before coming to Crawfordsville many years ago. Miss Thompson served for about 16 years as court reporter here before she passed the Indiana State Bar examination and became associated with Mr. Sprow in his law office. Miss Thompson was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and Business & Professional Women's Club of Crawfordsville of which she was a past president. Miss Thompson had also been a member of the Order of Eastern Star. A brother, John G. Thompson, 109 N. Blair St, survives together with several nephews and nieces. Miss Thompson had made her home with her brother and his wife since 1924. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after Tuesday noon. - kbz
