Mrs. Diantha Thompson, relict of Rev. G.M. Thompson, died at the residence of her son, Maurice Thompson on east Pike street on Saturday last, in the 84th year of her age. The interment took place at Oak Hill cemetery on Monday afternoon. - thanks to Kim H for both of these

The funeral of Mrs. Diantha Thompson occurred on Monday at 2 o'clock from the residence of her son, Hon. J. Maurice Thompson on east Pike street. The services were conducted by Rev. A.J. Alexander, and the interment occurred at Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Thompson's maiden name was Jaeger and she came of one of the old Dutch families of New york, being born in Syracuse, November 3, 1813. She was educated in best schools of the country and in 1831 was married to the Rev. Grigg M. Thompson, who was one of the leading ministers in the Baptist church and of a national fame in that denomination. Mrs. Thompson was a devoted Christian and her life a beautiful example of the graces and virtues of the teachings of the great Master.
