Thompson - Cleveland

Source: Crawfordsville Daily News-Review 5 May 1902

Cleveland Thompson was born July 28, 1884 and died April 25, 1902.  Since the death of his mother several years ago he has lived with his uncle, George Shaw at Jamestown. He was a kind, loving and obedient boy and was loved by all who knew him. He was one of the graduating class at Jamestown this spring and his chair will be draped in mourning at the commencement. Only a few days before his death he looked up at his aunt, Mrs. Shaw and said, “I have no home now but I will soon have.”  His sickness only lasted nine days when he departed this life to meet his mother beyond the skies. The funeral was preached at Mt. Zion church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. Ledbetter and the remains were laid in their last resting place in the cemetery near the church.  He leaves a father, a sister, two brothers and numerous other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. - kbz
