Claude L. Thompson well known resident of Crawfordsville and only son of the late Maurice Thompson, noted author died at Sewanee, Tenn. Wed. morning. Messages giving information of his death were received by relatives here Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Thompson, who had been in ill health for the past two years, had gone to Tennessee, believing the southern climate would cause an improvement in his condition. He was suffering from a throat ailment. For some time past he has been growing weaker until death finally resulted. The deceased was 45 years old and had been a resident of Crawfordsville practically all his life. He graduated from Wabash College with the class of 1891 and has since practiced law in this city, having offices on East Main Street. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, Wabash chapter and also held membership in the Sons of America, a patriotic organization. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Alice Lee Thompson and two sisters, Mrs. AB Ballard of Tampa, Florida and Mrs. Austin Long. Mrs. Thompson was with her son in Tennessee. She arrived home at noon today, having accompanied the body to this city. Funeral arrangements had not been made late this afternoon. - kbz
