Charlotte A. Thompson March 3, 1906-April 24, 2004

Charlotte A. Thompson, 98, Rosedale, died 2:45 p.m. Saturday in Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Terre Haute. Mrs. Thompson was a retired obstetrics nurse in Clay County Hospital, Brazil, with 35 years of service. She also served as a private duty, office and home delivery nurse. Memberships included Bridgeton United Methodist Church, Women´s Society of Christian Service, Raccoon Township Home Demonstration Club, Union Hospital Alumni and a former Rosedale Civic Club member. She was a 1927 Brazil High School graduate, attended Indiana Normal School and was a 1927 Union Hospital School of Nursing graduate. She was born March 3, 1906, at Brazil to Otis Shattuck and Elizabeth Kennedy Anderson. She married Alva Otis Thompson on June 16, 1929, at Brazil. He died May 18, 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Peffley, Terre Haute; two brothers, William T. Anderson, Bedford, and O.K. Anderson, Vincennes; a sister, Margaret Sorrell, Indianapolis; a grandson, Dallas (Donna) Peffley, Covington; three great-grandchildren, April (James) Clarkston, Brazil, and Sarah (Matt) Keller and Robert Peffley, both of Covington; and several nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Delaine Peffley, is deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bridgeton United Methodist Church with Pastor Allen Relford officiating. Burial will be in Clear Run Cemetery, Bridgeton. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 221 Main St., Rosedale, and one hour prior to Wednesday´s services in the church.
