Wingate, Ind June 30 – Bourbon F. Thompson, age 68 years, well known in many sections in this part of the state died at noon here Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Marmaduke.  The deceased had been in failing health for two years, following an attack of influenza. Death was due to shingles from which he had been suffering for the past six weeks. Mr. Thompson was born May 24, 1854 near Waveland. During his lifetime he has resided on farms in Parke, Fountain, Montgomery and Tippecanoe counties.  He formerly owned a farm near Clark’s Hill.  Surviving in addition to the daughter, Mrs. Marmaduke, are two sons, George E. Thompson of Wingate and Thomas Allen Thompson of Michigan City. GW Shaffer, 1928 Thompson Street Lafayette was a brother-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Sunday morning at Wingate Methodist Church with Rev. Mr. Johnson in charge. Burial will be made in Clark’s Hill cemetery.

Bourbon S. Thompson died last Thursday about noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Marmaduke in Wingate.  Death was due to a complication of troubles of which he had been afflicted for a year.  The deceased was 68 years old and was a man highly esteemed. The funeral was conducted Sunday morning at 10 o’clock from the ME Church. Burial was in Clark’s Hill.
