Berniece Thompson, 83, of 2000 Rosedale Court died at 11:08 p.m. Friday in Lane Home Nursing Center. She had been a resident there since April 1988. Mrs. Thompson was employed at Francis & Mount for 30 years, retiring in 1981. She lived at Wingate until 1960, when she moved to Crawfordsville. She was a member of Crawfordsville ladies of the Moose, College of Regents, VFW Auxiliary and a charter member of Eagles Lodge Aux. She was a former member of Mellott Antioch Christian Church. She was born Jan 27, 1906 at Mellott, to Marion and Minnie Hyatt Larson. She first married Freeman Lawson of Wingate in 1926. She later married James Thompson in 1954. He died in 1960. Surviving are a son, William Lawson of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Fletcher of Attica; a grandson, a great grandchild, two step grandchildren and one step great great grandchild. A sister and two brothers are deceased. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Jr. Haas officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Ladies of the Moose will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home 8 p.m. today. - kbz
