Thompson, Gitty Ann - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Gitty Ann Thompson was born in Butler County, O., Aug. 4, 1822, was married to Samuel Layman, March 23, 1845, and departed this life at 2 o’clock p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1899. She, with her husband, moved to this state in 1850. Six children were born to them, four daughters and two sons, two children having preceded the mother to the better land. She had been an invalid and constant sufferer for many years, but has borne her suffering without murmur or complaint. She will be sadly missed by a large circle of relatives and friends, but more especially will the loss be felt and the vacant chair noticed by her old and feeble companion, and her daughter, Julia, who has so kindly, tenderly and patiently waited upon her mother, and attended her many wants.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of the deceased in Whitesville, by Rev. Airhart, at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, 1899. Interment was at the Harshbarger Cemetery. = thanks so VERY much to "S" for ALL HER WONDERFUL WORK on this obit project
