Memorial services for Verlin R. THOMAS, 45-year-old former Crawfordsville resident, were conducted Monday at Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he had resided for 27 years. Services were in charge of Rev. J. Richard Wagner. Burial in Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Mr. Thomas died suddenly last Friday while attending a wedding reception. He was born in Crawfordsville Feb 17, 1923 a son of Clint and Blanche Watson Thomas. He was married May 17, 1947 in Cedar Rapids to Luella Frese. Mr. Thomas was employed at Collins Radio Co. at Cedar Rapids holding the position of foreman. He was a member of the 1st Congregational Church, Masonic Lodge and Shrine at Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his widow; 3 brothers, Kelsey and Herchel both of Crawfordsville and Carlton of Sebring, Fl. 4 sisters: Ineta Perkins of Cedar Rapids Oral Shrewsbury of Louisville, Ky; and Kathryn Morgan of Otterbein. He was preceded in death by a brother, Merle. Those from this are attending funeral services for Mr. Thomas included Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey Thomas, Miss Margaret Kay Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Morgan and Mrs. Madonna Vice. Two sisters were omitted from the survivors list of the Verlin Thomas obituary The two are Mabel Cook of St. Petersburg, Fl and Martha Powell of Sebring, Fl. - kbz
