Mrs. Susie Ellen THOMAS, 81 resident of Montgomery and Parke County most of her life, died 11:15 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cliston ALWARD in Marshall. She had been ill for a year. Born Oct 10, 1879, she was the daughter of James and Susan Sutton JACK. She was married in 1899 to James Edward Thomas. Her husband, a retired farmer died in 1950. They lived in Waveland for many years. Survivors include two sons, Earl and Alvie Thomas, both of Waveland; two daughters, Mrs. Nadine Alward of Marshall and Mrs. Elizabeth Gwinn of Lafayette; six grandchildren, 8 greats and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Machledt & Servies in Waveland Saturday with Rev. James Dickerson in charge. Burial in Memory Garden, Rockville. - transcribed by kbz
