Thomas - Mary Davidson

Mrs. Mary E. Thomas, age 78 years, died at the late home on Market Street this morning at 11:30 from a complication of diseases. She had been ill since August 21 of this year and gradually grew worse until death resulted this morning. The deceased was born August 16, 1840 in Putnam County ten miles north of Greencastle, the daughter of Samuel and Dorcas Davidson. In 1859 she was married to John H. Thomas, who preceded her in death 9 years ago. Mrs. Thomas is survived by three daughters, Carrie Nelson, Maggie Gibson and Ethel Montgomery of Indianapolis and one son, Samuel C. Thomas of Detroit, Mich. She has 7 children who are deceased. Besides the immediate family she has six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Morton, Indiana Methodist Church and the body will be taken to that place for burial. - kbz
