Kelsey L. Thomas, 97, Crawfordsville died 9:30 p.m. Friday at Carmen Nursing Center, Crawfordsville. He was a supervisor of construction for FA Wilhelm Construction Co and member of the Carpenters Union Local No 859 for 58 years. He attended schools in TIppecanoe and Montgomery Counties.

He was born Aug 27, 1901 in Fountain County to Clint and Blanche Watson Thomas. He married Edith A. Vail April 27, 1928 in Crawfordsville. She died Feb 8, 1992.  Survivors include three sons: Byron of Ephrata, Penn; Robert M of Waynetown and Larry L. of Crawfordsville; two daughters: Anna L. Siggins of New Market and Margaret K. Magill of Garfield; two sisters, Opal Shrewsbury of Salem and Martha Powell of Arlington, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Audrey Harker in October 1998 and an infant daughter, Mary; one infant son; four brothers, Carlton, Merle, Burlin and Herschell; three sisters, Mabel Cook, Inetta Perkin and Kathryn Morgan and one grnadchild.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Indiana 25 S, Waynetown with Rev. James L. Ranard officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m .Tuesday at the funeral home.
