Harry M. Thomas, 62, a retired farmer of Kingman and widely known throughout the county died at 5 a.m. Friday Sept 21 1951 in the Lynnhurst Nursing Home, Indianapolis. He had been a patient there since last March 30 and has been in ill health two years. Mr. Thomas was a native of Fountain County, having been born March 26, 1889, the son of William A. and Amanda Adkins Thomas. He was married Dec 18, 1913 to Miss Vall Patton, daughter of Mrs. Morton Patton and late Mr. Patton. He was a member of the Kingman Christian Church on whose official board he had served a number of years, of the Masonic Lodge of Kingman and Modern Woodmen of Hillsboro as well as of the Fountain County Farm Bureau Coop of whic he had been a director before he became ill. The body was brought from the nursing home to the Fishero Funeral Home and then taken to the family home in Kingman. SInce he had retired from farming, his son William has been operating the family farms. Surviving beside the wife and son are three daughters, Lucille who is the commercial teacher in the Veedersburg HS and lives at home; Mrs. Louise Breeden and Mrs. Lois Lentz of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Myer of Indianapolis and Mrs. Charles Parker of Veedersburg, one grandson and one grandaughter. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. CST Monday in Kingman Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Harry Miles of Plainville, Ind. Interment took place in the Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown. - transcribed by kbz
