Word was received in Crawfordsville Saturday announcing the death of George A. THOMAS, 76, a former resident of Montgomery County and this city, which occurred at the home of his son, Anson Thomas in Danville, Indiana, Saturday morning at 6:30 o´clock. Death was sudden and caused by a heart attack. He had been in declining health however since January. Mr. Thomas was born on a farm south of New Richmond on January 17, 1856 a son of Levi and Elizabeth Thomas. He was married in 1886 to Fannie Driver, who preceded him in death one year ago. Mr. Thomas, who was a retired farmer lived in this County his entire life. He resided in this city on west Market Street for 15 years. He was a member of the 1st Christian Church here. In addition to his son at whose home he died, Mr. Thomas is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Francis Wood of Kansas City, Mo; two brothers, James and Richard of New Richmond one sister, Mrs. George W. Clough of near this city and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the 1st Christian Church in this city Monday afternoon at 2 and will be in charge of Rev. JH Wilson, pastor of the Church. The body will be brought to the Hunt & Ratcliff Funeral Home have Monday morning and will be removed to the Church at noon where it will be in state until the hour of the services.
