COVINGTON, Ind. — Mrs. Edith E. Thomas, 79, of Covington, died at 9:52 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 5, 1979) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She had been a patient a day. She had resided in Covington since 1932 and was a member of the First Church of Christ of Covington. Born March 25, 1900, in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Morris and Anna Michael Middelton. She was married on Jan. 1, 1921, in Danville, to Dale E. Thomas, who survives. Other survivors include four sons, Elmer of Covington, Ivan of South Bend, Wesley Dale of Columbus, Ohio, and Mickey of Houma, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Mabel) Fairchild of Covington, Mrs. Ned (Joan) Cooley of Virginia, Minn., and Mrs. Richard (Pat) Scering of Covington; two brothers, Gene Middelton in southern Illinois and Lawrence Middelton of Arlington Heights, Ill.; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. --typed by Walt W
